THE SEVEN WONDERS announced

Hail to the guardians of the watchtower of the North! It's announcement day!

The Seven Wonders is the first of our annual themed short story anthologies, and we can now (finally) officially announce the selected authors and stories. Reader, you're going to want to get onto this like, right now.

The theme for this year's anthology is 'Stories about witches', and y'all did not disappoint! We have golems, Indian witches with magical hair, death magic, ancient forces of nature, magic mushroom trips, animal metamorphoses and acolyte witches, each story a stand-alone ode to the power of the feminine mysteries.

Thank you to everyone who submitted, and congratulations to our very own seven wonders.

The Seven Wonders will be launched at this year's Otherworld. More information on that soon!

Selected stories

So let's put you out of your misery: here are the seven selected stories and their authors:

  1. Lifael – Felix Lamont

  2. Shooting star – Manjari Jogi

  3. The Mud witch – Ciaran R. Maidwell

  4. The Shaman and the Witch – Nadia Cassim

  5. Unfamiliars – Francesco Nassimbeni

  6. A Spell for Healing Death – Luke Wildman

  7. Witchling – Mia Haven

That's not all we're announcing though...

It's also cover reveal time! We're doing things a bit differently with a double reveal – yes, there's a wig under this wig. We know you love it?

So how does this work? It's really quite simple – one cover will be the standard cover, and the second cover will be a limited print-run only available from our online store and from independent bookstores in South Africa. How's that for a bit of magic?

So here are your covers:

Book cover of The Seven Wonders - a section of La Primavera by Botticelli with pink Xs over everyone's eyes.

Book cover titled "The Seven Wonders: Stories About Witches" features a black-and-white illustration of a witch and a goat. Pink background.

Honestly, stunning.

Pre-orders will open on 1 April so make sure to subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on social media. Happy hexing, witches!
